Kiribati is moving to the new Business Names Act. All business name owners must re-register on the Online Business Registry. There is no fee, and MTCIC no longer accepts paper forms.
Re-registration has four steps:
- 1Create your online account
- 2Link your online account to your business
- 3Confirm your business name details
- 4Submit your form and required documents through your online account
It takes place over several days, with short waits while MTCIC reviews each step.

After re-registration: annual returns
You must file an annual return every year to keep your business name. MTCIC emails you when it is due; if it is not filed, your name will be removed. Learn about annual returns.
